NOW THAT I AM OLDER…
The list of the ‘things I want’, has gotten smaller with every passing year.
These days, I can pretty much narrow it down to – good health for us all, enough money, enough time, enough fun, enough work – really, just enough. Enough. That’s really all that I want.
The list of things ‘I DON’T want’, however, has gotten bigger, a whole lot bigger:
I don’t want….
Drama
Fake friends
Manipulation
Gossip
Bitching
Peer pressure
Bullying
Comparison
Labelling
Insincerity
Dishonesty
Negativity
Small talk
Time wasting
Back-stabbing
Social climbing
Interruptions
Harassment
Selfishness
Self-obsessiveness
Rudeness
Short-sightedness
Racism
Sexism
Any kind of ‘ism’
Anyone telling me that ‘I can’t’, or worse that ‘I should’.
As I get older, I realise that I can totally handle all of the above – but I don’t have to.
It’s pretty freeing.
If it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive right?
Ladies, pass it on….
