MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS, EVERY SINGLE DAY

Advertisements

Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week, which is why I am posting about it THIS week…

You see, Mental Health awareness needs to be spread EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Because NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is more important than keeping your mental health in balance.

It is not something that HAPPENS to other people.

It is not something that happens at all actually.

In fact, it is something we all live with, just in varying degrees.

Mental health is like physical health, it’s just that we cannot see it.

Mental Health issues do not discriminate.

It doesn’t matter whether you are rich, poor, successful, black, white, brown, young, old, male, female, thin, fat, healthy, wise, clever, stupid, mature, immature, capable, single, separated or happily married.

If you do not talk about your feelings, your emotions, your worries, your fears, your grief, your heartache, your paranoia…they will rise up and up until they overwhelm you.

If you had a physical pain you would treat it, investigate.

It is exactly the same.

There should be no stigma whatsoever to depression, anxiety or any other mental burden.

It is like having backache.

Talk about it, treat it, move on with your life and accept that it is something you will deal with.

It needn’t be dark or terrifying – and you need never, NEVER be alone.

We are all in this together.

Mental health matters, it kills. Every day.

Let’s talk about it, every day.
