And I Am Glad Again, That I Feel Pain…

Sometimes I wish I didn’t have to feel everything
So deeply
Like the weight of the world is mine to bear.

Sometimes I wish I was one of those who breeze
So freely
Through the chaos and the crisis and the suffering.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t come apart so easily
So spectacularly
But the pain is often just too much to take.

Sometimes I wish I was made of stone and steel
Impenetrable
But instead I’m made of flesh and heart and tears.

And then one day my struggle, touches another human
So deeply
Attracting broken souls like a magnet, to be healed.

And I am glad again, that I am all things human.

And I am glad again, that I feel pain.
