We Free Women
Many moons ago, when I first began this journey, the lovely (and inspiring) Tamzin Outhwaite shared one of my poems. I was BEYOND thrilled! I plucked up the courage to ask her if I could send her a book. She warmly said yes, received the book, endorsed the book, and has continued to tirelessly share all of my works with her many female friends to this very day. Because that’s what women do for one another. And she is a particularly wonderful one, Dear Tamzin, I cant thank you enough. At that point in time your support gave me so much confidence and brought many great people my way. I vowed that if I could ever give back, I would, and so when Tamzin set up a wonderful non-profit enterprise called ‘We Free Women’, with some of her equally amazing friends, I was onboard immediately offering raffle prizes and books. I am pleased to say that today I am able to help in a more meaningful way by giving a percentage of my merchandise sales/events to the cause and by promoting it where possible. It is a brilliant concept and a fabulous venture! But it is small and new and we need your help. The enterprise came about when Tamzin shared snaps of her life-changing wellness break and realised from the comments that so many women just couldn’t access such things: limited funds and the dependency of others making it almost impossible.
ALL women deserve some time to regenerate and recuperate. The way we care for so many warrants as much return as possible. Tamzin decided to make this so… the organisation now hosts retreats for women across the country, helping them back to ‘self’ and bringing wellness and community where it is much needed. It may seem like a treat to some, but really, it is an essential. The women receive therapy in the form of healing, exercise, treatments, workshops, meeting new people and learning new things and come away, not just refreshed but forever changed. If you are able to give this gift of care to yourself, please DO. We women tend to leave ourselves last but it is vital that we change this. We are so much better when we allow self-care to settle at the top of our own list sometimes, and that reward ripples outwards to all the people in our lives in such a positive way. We can’t even begin to measure that effect. If you do give yourself this gift already, (I’m so pleased) perhaps you can help us to help someone else receive what they are unable to access? Knowing that the rewards for them will go on to affect so much and so many in their worlds?
You can help by donating on either of our websites or buying any of my merchandise throughout the year. I give half of any profits.
